What is the role of the body and DMT in your practice?
In my practice, I draw from Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) to deepen the therapeutic relationship with clients. I tap into the body to intuitively connect with clients in the present moment, allowing for a more immediate and authentic interaction. The body serves as a powerful tool for self-expression, enabling clients to communicate emotions and experiences that might be difficult to articulate verbally. This approach also informs my intermodal practice, where movement, alongside other modalities, enhances the therapeutic process and fosters a holistic understanding of the client’s needs. I invite clients to engage with their bodies as a means of exploring and regulating their emotions, facilitating healing and self-awareness.
